The outside is a deep reddish purple, while the inside, yet sweet and tangy, melts in your mouth like a ripe peach. Once the skin is cut around the middle completely through the rind, this tropical fruit is displayed beautifully in its own colorful cup where the individual fleshy, citrusy, segments can be lifted out individually by a fork.
